Rapid supplies an optional metal detector and a metal separator. The detector is mounted on the side of a conveyor or similar transport system that feeds plastic waste into a granulator. If metal is detected on the conveyor, then the granulator is automatically stopped to prevent component damage and a warning light or sound is switched on. A combined metal detector/separator is an accessory for Rapid TRACS, where it is located under the separation unit. When metal particles 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter are detected, they are automatically removed from falling regrind.
